Antique Ottoman Silver Bracelet from Syria
This stunning, heavy bracelet features fine workmanship on 6 raised domes around the bracelet and 15 pieces of auspicious turquoise glass to ward off evil (one is missing). Dating to the early 20th century, this piece has been lovingly worn, giving it a nice patina, but also showing some signs of wear. The hinge looks to have been possibly replaced, as there is some damage to the silver at the hinge, the two hinges are slightly different styles and some of the decorative elements look to have moved slightly when the piece was heated in repair. There is also a short hairline crack visible on the inside but the bracelet is strong and wearable. The original chain has been replaced with another of the same era. This beautiful piece tests positive for silver although a specific purity cannot be determined.
